There is no single uniform application of the parameter's values in the VIEWS label of the panel.cfg file. It must be achieved by programming and testing of the pilot through altering these values.

The function of the 3 parameters of the VIEW_DIR file.

VIEW_LEFT_DIR=XX,YY,ZZ, where "XX" is Roll, "YY" is pitch, and "ZZ" is yaw (*same for VIEW_RIGHT_DIR).

If the views are not changed, the default views in the .air file would remain in effect.

To change those views, the VIEW_DIR command is used to alter that default.

The default for yaw ("ZZ") - left or right of forward - is 0. The view from full right is 090, or a value of 90, and the view for full left is 270, or a value of 270. It is the 3rd of the 3 values in the VIEW_DIR command. It must be specified if the other 2 are changed, because if not, the view will be looking straight forward with a wing view bitmap.

The default for pitch ("YY")is determined in the .air file. In the VIEW_DIR command, it is the 2nd of 3 parms. Pitch is the view on the vertical, the angle of attack. This value changes views greatly with small values changes.

The default for roll is determined also in the .air file. Roll is the angle of bank, so the value will change the angle at which the wing view points to the sky or ground. This is the 1st of the 3 parms.

Fractional and negative values are permitted.

The user should try several variations of the parms to get the view that they desire. The views can also be a function
of the default values in the .air file.

It is not a uniform value that can be universally applied to all bitmaps.

It is a process of working and changing the values and testing over and over again until one gets what what wants to see in these side wing-views.
